Having restored a few cars to concours standard, I know that the quest for originality relies on working original components, preferably those fitted to the car in the first place. Modern reproduction parts are often not fit for purpose but are better than nothing.
Fuggle's Fettling has been set up to offer classic car restoration services including, rebuilding or reconditioning your vehicle's original components making them work and look like they would have done the day they were fitted to the vehicle or in some cases, better!
We can offer simple servicing, rebuilds or more complex restorations for many different makes including Solex, Stromberg, Zenith, SU and Weber. Look for examples of our carburetter restorations in the Gallery.
We can offer a full restoration service to concours standards or a decent clean-up with our "war finish", maintaining some patination.
We can offer gearbox rebuilds from a simple bearing and seal change to more complex restorations to concours standard. Most of our current projects have been Land Rover LT76 gearbox and transfer box work from early Series 1s to late Series 3s. though we have completed some pre-war projects from Talbot to MG.
Really fiddly jobs get us going! We've completed a number of restorations of electrical components including Lucas restorations on switches and wiper motors. They are all restored and finished off to full original concours specification or left with valuable patina generated by years of careful use, depending on customers' wishes
