Vintage and Classic Vehicle Component Restoration
Having restored a few cars to concours standard, I know that the quest for originality relies on working original components, preferably those fitted to the car in the first place. Modern reproduction parts are often not fit for purpose but are better than nothing.
Fuggle's Fettling has been set up to offer classic car restoration services including, rebuilding or reconditioning your vehicle's original components making them work and look like they would have done the day they were fitted to the vehicle or in some cases, better!
We can offer simple servicing, rebuilds or more complex restorations for many different makes including Solex, Stromberg, Zenith, SU and Weber. Look for examples of our carburetter restorations in the Gallery.
We can offer a full restoration service to concours standards or a decent clean-up with our "war finish", maintaining some patination.
We can offer restoration of many Lucas windscreen wiper motors, from the CW1 and CWX of Series I Land Rovers and many post war vintage vehicles to the FW2 motors of Series 2 and 2A Land Rovers and Mini Mokes to more exotic DR1s of Aston Martins and Jaguars, all are welcome here!
Really fiddly jobs get us going! We've completed a number of restorations of electrical components including Lucas PLC6 ignition/lighting switches, distributors, fuel pumps, tank senders and Tex Magnalite indicator switches. They are all restored and finished off to full original concours specification or left with valuable patina generated by years of careful use, depending on customers' wishes
